Cookie Policy

Do We Use Cookies?

No — not the browser kind. Spooky Bites does not set or read any cookies: no tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, and no analytics cookies. You won't see a cookie consent banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to. (The recipe kind, we fully endorse.)

What We Keep in Local Storage Instead

A few small things are saved in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie: your light/dark theme choice, your menu-planner checkboxes, and your list of favourite recipes. Local storage differs from a cookie in a few important ways: it is not sent to a server with every page request, it stays only on the device and browser you set it on, and here it exists purely so the site can remember your preferences and your saved recipes between visits. None of it is ever transmitted anywhere.

Third-Party Fonts

This site loads two typefaces from Google Fonts. Google's font delivery service may use its own cookies or similar technology as part of serving those files; that's governed by Google's own policies, not this site's. No cookie from Google Fonts is read or used by Spooky Bites itself.

Managing Local Storage

You can clear your browser's local storage at any time through your browser's settings (usually under "Clear browsing data" or "Site settings"). Doing so resets the theme toggle, empties the menu planner, and clears your saved favourites on this device.
